Agrivoltaics

Hydroponics in Singapore

Objectives

  • Develop a scalable container farming model powered by solar PV technology.
  • Use hydroponic and vertical farming techniques for efficient, soil-less cultivation.
  • Create a controlled cool-room environment for consistent, high-quality production.
  • Reduce carbon footprint and improve food resilience in urban and semi-urban regions.
  • Generate employment, promote agri-tech education, and support local food security.

Upcoming…….

Energreen Technologies Pte Ltd, in collaboration with M-Farm, proposes to develop an innovative solar-powered container farming system on a 6-hectare farm. This system will use hydroponics and climate-controlled containers to grow high-quality vegetables and fruits sustainably. The farm will leverage renewable solar photovoltaic (PV) energy to power cooled container environments, reducing reliance on grid power and ensuring year-round, pesticide-free food production.
